Hello! I’m Sandrine Elliott, and I’m passionate about helping others learn new languages. My own language learning started out of necessity but quickly became a lifelong passion. Here’s my story.
A few years ago, I was aiming for a job at the Palladium Hotel Group in Ibiza, a big name in the hotel industry. The catch? I needed to speak Portuguese, English, and Spanish fluently. All the bosses spoke Spanish, so I had to learn it fast.
The first time I applied, I didn’t realize Spanish was required, and I failed the interview. But instead of giving up, I went home determined to find the best way to learn the language quickly. Being unemployed at the time allowed me to dedicate all my energy to this goal.
I spent every waking hour studying Spanish, and after a month of intense focus, I finally got it. This experience taught me the best ways to learn a language, which I now use in my teaching.
Today, I live in the USA and have fully embraced English in my daily life. For over six years, I’ve been using English without relying on translations or apps. I know firsthand how challenging it can be to learn a new language, and this understanding makes me a patient and empathetic teacher.
What started as a hobby has turned into a dedicated career. I’ve tested many learning methods and understand the challenges students face. Learning a language isn’t just about grammar and vocabulary; it’s about building confidence and opening doors to new opportunities.
In addition to my language skills, I also have a background in teaching science and biology to students from elementary to high school. I blend this knowledge into my lessons, making them engaging and fun. If you love science, animals, and nature, we can tailor our lessons to include these topics, making learning both enjoyable and productive.
I’ve developed a method that helps even the shyest students become confident speakers. As a former introvert, I understand the difficulties of overcoming shyness and have created strategies to help my students succeed.
Every challenging word learned is a step closer to success. Let’s work together to help your child gain the language skills they need for a bright future.
